Planning for Taxmageddon, a Report from Capitol Hill. Congress left town for the election without resolving a multitude of tax issues, from the continued existence of incentives for energy efficient construction to what tax rates will apply in 2013. Todd Taggart, Tax Leader of Grant Thornton’s construction industry practice and Mel Schwarz, Grant Thornton’s Director of Tax Legislative Affairs, will review the results of the election, examine how those results may affect the resolution of these and other tax legislative issues, and discuss the steps construction companies can take to manage their exposure to the potential Taxmageddon.

After This Session, You Will Be Able To:

  • Discuss the uncertain tax climate affecting contractors;
  • Propose 2012 year-end decisions and transactions designed to minimize overall cash taxes;
  • Identify long-term individual and corporate taxation trends.
