Incentives seem to be a way of life and contractors that understand them bring a value-add to any new project.

The general contractor or sub is a stronger member of the project team when they demonstrate to the customer ways to reduce the square foot cost of the end product. This presentation will include the financial impact of tax increment financing “TIF”, special district incentives as well as tax credits and how these federal, state or local subsidies can often be the factors that allow construction projects to move forward. While state and local governments have budget constraints, incentives are important as they are viewed as a stimulus for new projects or expansions. The session will also address the income tax consequences to the applicant that receives the incentive.
