Dr. Jan Yager has been selling foreign rights since, at the age of 24, she became head of foreign rights for Grove Press. Over the years, directly or through a network of co-agents, for her own books, for the authors of her small press, Hannacroix Creek Books, Inic., or her foreign rights consulting clients, including Publish on Demand Global (
www.publishondemandglobal.com), Jan has sold one or multiple titles into 29 languages plus English reprint rights. A sociologist, author, speaker, and coach, Jan's sold her own Simon & Schuster title, WHEN FRIENDSHIP HURTS, 30 times in 25 languages. Her 30 nonfiction and fiction books include FOREIGN RIGHTS AND WRONGS: Selling or Buying Literary Rights Around the World (forthcoming, Hannacroix Creek Books, Inc., 2011).
