Enteral Nutrition Practitioner Tutorial

Welcome to the Enteral Nutrition Practitioner Tutorial (ENPT). The ENPT is an online educational experience with the ultimate goal of disseminating education and resources for the safe initiation and management of enteral nutrition in adult and pediatric patient populations to reduce preventable adverse events and improve outcomes for those patients.

The target audience of the ENPT is interdisciplinary healthcare practitioners who provide care to patients receiving enteral nutrition across the lifespan. While this encompasses a broad audience, the ENPT also contains advanced level information to ensure the advanced level practitioners will find the ENPT a useful resource.

Learning Objectives:

As a result of completing the ENPT, the practitioner can expect to be able to:
  • Initiate enteral nutrition in adult and pediatric patients safely while using best practices
  • Manage enteral nutrition administration in adult and pediatric patient populations across the continuum of care
  • Identify potential complications affiliated with enteral nutrition administration

The ENPT consists of 20 different learning modules. Continuing education (CE) credit is not available for any part of the ENPT.

Over 40 experts in the field contributed content to the ENPT. Faculty members are highlighted at the beginning of each module. Faculty disclosure/conflict of interest information will be provided at the beginning of each module prior to accessing the content. All modules were reviewed by members of A.S.P.E.N.’s Education and Professional Development Committee for any commercial bias. The ENPT also had an editorial board who worked with faculty to ensure content remained free of commercial bias.
