Paula Robinson, MSN, RN-BC
Paula Robinson, RN, BC, MSN, is the Manager of Patient, Family and Consumer Education, Division of Education at Lehigh Valley Health Network, Allentown, Pennsylvania. An employee of the network for 24 years, she has clinical and staff development experience in Medical / Surgical, Critical Care, and Perioperative Nursing. Using the principles of critical theory and other health care models to form empowered based strategies for disease management, she is redesigning health care education for acute and chronic care conditions in the hospital, outpatient facilities, and physician practice settings across the network. She has published several patient-centered care and management topics in peer review nursing journals and has consulted with the Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority and the ECRI as a subject matter expert on quality performance initiatives in the clinical setting. In addition, Mrs. Robinson and her co-author Debra Peter were featured in the Advisory Board Daily Briefing in January 2011 for their work on innovating on "teach-back" to prevent avoidable readmissions.

Mrs. Robinson earned a Masters of Science in Nursing Education and Health Care Education Certification from Regis University, Denver Colorado. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from DeSales University and began her career in nursing as a diploma graduate of St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing. Professional memberships include the American Nurses Association (ANA), Health Care Education Association (HCEA), and she is ANCC Board Certified in Medical / Surgical Nursing.
