Dr. Jones is a specialist in critical care medicine with a long standing interest and a post-graduate research degree in rapid response teams. He has studied multiple aspects of crisis detection in ward patients and the craft and science of responding to such crises, from vital signs monitoring to nurses attitudes, from delayed detection to dose effect, from multiple crises to cardiac arrest prevention. He has spoken at multiple international meetings on crisis detection, patient monitoring, rapid response systems and quality improvement in the detection and care of patients at risk. He has more than 20 peer-reviewed publications in this field and is currently conducting several multicentre studies on rapid response teams.
