David A Nace, MD, MPH is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the University of Pittsburgh's Division of Geriatric Medicine. He serves as the Director, Long Term Care and Flu Programs for the University of Pittsburgh Institute on Aging and as Chief of Medical Affairs, UPMC Senior Communities. Dr. Nace is an expert in the area of infection control in long-term care, particularly that of influenza prevention and management. He is a 2003 recipient of the AMDA Foundation / Pfizer QI Award for the Promoting LTC Vaccinations Project and of the National Influenza Vaccine Summit's 2008 Immunization Excellence Award - Healthcare Workers Campaign. Dr. Nace serves on the CMS Expert Panel on Infection Control responsible for assisting in the revision of the infection control licensure regulation guidance for nursing facilities. Dr. Nace is skilled in the use of quality improvement techniques to create organizational change and improve the delivery of medical care services in LTC settings.
