David Sandvik, MD, FACP, CMD, Professor of Internal and Family Medicine, is Director of the South Dakota Institute of Geriatrics at Sanford School of Medicine of the University of South Dakota. He has been a Medical Director of Geriatric Services at Rapid City Regional Hospital and Medical Director of Golden Living Center Prairie Hills in Rapid City since 1988. He is also Medical Director of the Good Samaritan Center of New Underwood, SD since 1992. The Hospital and surrounding nursing homes have had a transfer process in place since 1988, surviving many changes during that time.
