Anita Geevarughese, MD, MPH serves as the Adult Immunization Medical Specialist for the Bureau of Immunization at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Dr. Geevarughese completed her medical school and pediatrics residency training through New York Medical College at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY. Dr. Geevarughese then completed a Preventive Medicine Residency and Master of Public Health degree at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. At the NYC Department of Health, Dr. Geevarughese works on a variety of immunization issues, including healthcare worker influenza vaccination and school-located vaccination programs and provider education and communications. She served as a key site contact for the CDC-sponsored pilot program to field test the National Quality Forum measure looking at healthcare worker influenza vaccination.
