
Speaker's Profile
Gwendolen Buhr, MD, CMD is an assistant professor of Internal Medicine and Geriatrics at Duke University Medical Center. She received her MD from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She then completed her internal medicine residency at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC, followed by a geriatrics fellowship at Duke University. She has been involved in AMDA since attending the Futures program in 2002. Dr. Buhr is a previous recipient of an AMDA Foundation/Pfizer Quality Improvement Award. She is the current president of the North Carolina Medical Directors Association. Her teaching and research interests are focused on long-term care education and quality improvement.
