Mara Ferris, MS, RN, GCNS-BC, CPHQ is a Clinical Nurse Specialist with certifications in geriatrics and healthcare quality. She has recently been named a Fellow of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists, an organization devoted to the special needs of geriatric patients related to drug regimes. Her clinical practice has been devoted to older adults providing direct patient care, management, staff development, and consultation and interim management to health care organizations. In recognition of her expertise and skills as a clinician and an educator, she has spoken at international, national, regional, local, and institutional symposia, and has appeared as an invited guest on television and radio. Ms. Ferris is a reviewer for numerous professional journals and has more than 40 publications in professional journals, trade journals, and nursing texts. Ms. Ferris is also the founder and president of AGE, the ASSOCIATION FOR GERONTOLOGIC EDUCATION. AGE is dedicated to providing education to the general public, and to supporting health care providers to better meet the special needs of older adults.
