Rita L. Klahr, RN, MS, CFNP is Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine, Eastern Virginia medial School (EVMS) and Adjunct Faculty in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program, School of Nursing, Old Dominion University. She teaches the curricular module on interdisciplinary teams within this program. She has extensive clinical experience in interdisciplinary care. Over the past 14 years, she has worked within collaborative teams as a Certified Diabetes Educator, as a founding member of a hospital based team for the Acute Care of the Elderly, and as a member of the Geriatric Assessment Team within the Department of Family Medicine, EVMS.
