LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Each year, the Program Committee works to formulate a program that provides cutting-edge, evidence-based, unbiased education relevant to the spectrum of professionals in the LTC setting.
The following are global objectives that reflect the purpose of the overall program in terms of the knowledge, competencies and/or skills attendees may gain by participating in the activity. Note that due to varying needs, not all objectives will be relevant to each attendee.
Upon conclusion of participating in this educational activity, attendees should be able to:
- Apply knowledge and skills gained to enhance the effectiveness of medical direction in nursing facilities,
- Discuss clinical advances and new research findings relevant to long term care medicine,
- Implement clinical practice guidelines in the long term care setting,
- Utilize available data, tools, and emerging technologies to inform decisions about clinical care and/or medical direction,
- Implement strategies for effective communication with patients, families and care teams,
- Enhance skills and abilities to collaborate with and/or lead the long term care interdisciplinary team,
- Analyze available data to promote quality improvement in long term care,
- Gain new perspectives on relevant aspects of fiscal issues, health care policy, and AMDA policy priorities,
- Establish a network with active members of AMDA and the long term care medical community.
Session-specific objectives are made available to attendees prior to the start of individual sessions. These should be taken into account when evaluating individual sessions.

Each activity should take you approximately the number of hours to complete as credits which are awarded for that activity, (e.g. for 1.5 credit hours awarded, the completion of the activity should take approximately 1.5 hours to complete.)

Credit Designation
The American Medical Directors Association designates this educational activity for a maximum of 103.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
AMDA Certification Program (AMDCP) Credit Designation
This seminar has been approved for a total of 103.25 credit hours toward certification as a Certified Medical Director in Long Term Care (CMD). 76.75 credits have been designated as Management education credits and 26.5 hours have been designated as Clinical education credits. The AMDA CMD program is administered by the American Medical Directors Certification Program. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit actually spent on the activity.
ACCME STANDARDS FOR COMMERCIAL SUPPORT
