E. Mary Johnson has been a nurse leader for the past 35 years. Most recently , she retired from her position as Career Coach for Nurses @ Cleveland Clinic Foundation.- a program focused on the retention of nurses ( 2005-2010 ) . Currently, she is a Career Coach Consultant. She has an extensive ambulatory leadership history. She was the Director of Ambulatory Nursing for Cleveland Clinic until retiring in 1999. She served as the administrator for Advanced Practice Nurses . She helped designed and implement a successful program for the Privileging and Credentialing for Advanced Practice Nurses (1999 – 2004). Her professional commitments include serving on the American Nurses Credentialing Committee ( ANCC ) on the Nursing Leadership Content Expert Panel (2004-2011 ) She is past President and Board member of the American Academy for Ambulatory Care Nursing ( 1996-2002 ) , a former member of the JCAHO Professional –Technical Advisory Board for Ambulatory Care ( 1996 - 2001 ) AAACN certification review course educator , frequent lecturer and has published nursing articles and has authored a chapter in AAACN Core Curriculum Text.
